Interview with Kyung il Chung : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Kyung il Chung : Sling is wireless speaker that actively invites the users to the sustainable design. The principle was to create a mechanism that will change the user behavior without having to add another step in product interaction and pulling the cord was the solution that is chosen for Sling. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Kyung il Chung : The project started off as a sustainable design project. However, I wanted to move on from the current trend of material implementation and more actively involve the users to the environmental problem. By doing that I could have a freedom in aesthetics and mechanism therefore a new type of sustainable gadget was designed. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Kyung il Chung : I would like to integrate the design to a brand. Branding is a strong motivator which in behavior change perspective, is one of the greatest driving force. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Kyung il Chung : The project initially started off as a sustainable design research project. However I took the research value to more tangible concept. In total, the whole project took 3 months to develop. .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Kyung il Chung : The research on sustainable wireless speaker gave me some inspiring .
